MIkes Thoughts

Saturday things

I waffled around blogging for a bit trying to decide where I want the blather to live. Only fitting on a Saturday morning when things get going more slowly that I restore my git repo from its “bundle” and start it again.

One of the main things is enjoyment and desire to write. I need to feel any old day like my writing is my harbor. My personal place where all the things seem best held. I cannot just park at some nice service and pay and then not feel good about writing there.

I think it’s some personal thing with me that I need this space where I feel it’s mine. Maybe how I created the blog has a share to do with it. Maybe I feel this interest because I still work on little things with it. Some plugin I want to try. A new collection to play with.

At the same time I want a place more that I can reach than you can find. The words out there are the little ships in the harbor. My safe places. Or sometimes my challenging ones. I feel strongly people accept little later in life because it’s easy. Somehow challenge and change becomes unwanted. They all want status quo. Thats too bad really because life out there doesn’t wait to see what you were doing. I thought some lately about my kids in America. How I wish they would see that deciding someone does bad life choices is not the issue. Speaking truth about a person is not a failing. I’m perhaps vindictive and I remember too much. Maybe instead it’s like my mom saying,

People make their own personal hell on earth

It’s one thing to make it. It’s another to stay in it.

Maybe the same with change in life. People will take their personal hell rather than try something new. Untried. Untested. Maybe interesting and different.

Both things seem to be steps. My kids stopped with believing things a person tells them. They can never just ask and instead pass judgment on things they really know little of. And yeah…

It’s the same with changes in a life as time unfolds on last acts. Maybe the last acts should be most interesting, different, fun.

Just a thought on this Saturday and whatever meaning it has.
